What is a "teleprompter"

"Teleprompter" -or "autocue"- is a device from where a presenter can read text. It's kind of mechanichal, -or more often electronic, version of "cue cards". User of teleprompter can be an actor in soap opera, a president giving speach (or in some cases, both of these...), news reader etc.
